A Great Week with Grandma and Grandpa!!

First I will post my many pictures of our week with gramma and papa!!

Waiting out the rain in service. See how sunny it is though, it'll be sunny and pouring, then it's sunny and HOT! Funny country:)

Micah just LOVED walking in the humid heat after it rained hahaha, ask him about it;)

This is the first little boy Jeremiah got to show a video to. I could not figure out how to download them in Spanish!! Then when a sister finally told me the right way I didn't have good enough internet to do it. So I finally got some downloaded at Marilyn's!!
So Jeremiah went up to this terribly shy boy and showed him the Pray Anytime video and then handed him an invitation and said "este para ti!"
The boy was very straight faced about everything until we started walking away, then he started babbaling on about the video.
And although difficult to get him to remove his finger from his nose, he loved having his picture taken!:)

That is Audry and Ginia way up on the hill. They had to climb this hill, after climbing through a barbed wire "gate" to deliver a memorial invitation!
We live the ministry here, it's fun, exciting, adventurous, beautiful, and friendly! Besides the good times with our brothers and sisters!!:)

And this is Orbis' pig! We have. We have been to this house numerous times and never knew there was this cute little pink guy back there, until after service one day we saw him peeking his head out, just seeing what's going in! He's 6 months old, and rather large for a baby, and SO SO cute!! He looks just like Wilber.....and I'll bet there is a spider in there with him with a brain (or at least a head) big enough to be Charlotte!:/
We keep telling ourselves "Wilber" is their PET, nothing else!

Then Sunday after meeting, grandma spent the day with Marilyn doing return visits and studies, and grandpa stayed home, starving....sorry about that papa, (someone ask him what he thinks of canned tuna lol) and fixed the sisters fence to keep her wild dogs in! He was our hero, he saved puppies far and wide and helped us get a good nights sleep!:)
But the rest of us(:/ I'm so ashamed) went to a great beach with the congregation!!
I don't remember what it's called but it was very cool.
Jeremiah and I saw this fishing boat coming in so I told Jere, come on let's go see what the fishermen caught!! So he and I ran over to the boat and as we approached I noticed that at least 6 of the 8 or 9 men pulling the boat up were in their UNDERWEAR!! Some were colored undies, some were briefs, some were bikinis, some of the me had t shirts on too, and some did not, all were soaking wet!
This made me a little uncomfortable, however I could tell the men thought nothing of it, and so I would not go all the way up to the boat, but Jeremiah insisted and kept pulling my arm until the men noticed and waved him over to see!!
So, we approached these 8/9 half naked men and it didn't even phase them!
But it was pretty cool because the Dominican way is that if someone is struggling, or even just doing something that would be easier if they helped, then they help!
This was the case when Jason got the car stuck in the sand because he drove to close to the beach (hehehehe) I was notwith him, all the kids ditched him and went swimming, and he was stuck trying to build a little traction bridge for his one DEEP tire (this makes me laugh every time I think about it!) and pretty soon there were Dominican men coming out of no where helping him get it out! And they did!! So he repaid their good deed the Amarican way, with beer!!
Anyways, back to the boat, as these me were struggling to get this boat all the way up on shore the brothers all ran to help, which then eased my discomfort of standing around with a bunch of men in their underwear!
They caught SHARK!!! So I ran to get EVERYBODY to come see. They were just little ones, but they told the brother, which he told us AFTER we left the beach, that they caught big ones, and stretched out his arms, right out about where we were swimming!!
NICE!!!

Most of the fully dressed people are from the congregation!

This is Orbis and the fish he bought for dinner that night!! He got these 4 needle fish, one shark, and 3 small fish (one that he gave to Jeremiah, who named him cowboy - yes the dead fish was named cowboy and stunk to high heaven by the time he got him home...gross, and the other little one Jere was supposed to rinse off in the water and ended up losing him in the water:/) all for just under $5!! They cleaned them and everything for him....note, if we white English speaking folk had tried to buy some on our own we would've paid about $15/$20 for the same thing!!!!
NICE!!:)

Jeremiah with "cowboy" The Dominican ladies love him, I think it's his blond hair, because he isn't all that sweet to them! I really wish he would be because they are SO sweet to him! But he is rather clingy to me here, and he doesn't get NEARLY the sleep begets at home!
Next year none of the ladies are going to care about him and hell probably be Mr. Friendly!!
NICE!:)

Then on our wayput of the beach we stopped and did this little hike back through jungle and across unsafe, wobbly, broken, hanging bridges (they were only about 10 feet off the ground though;)) To an awesome fresh water swimming hole with a Tarzan swing! It was so cool!
A couple of little Dominican boys who were probably 9-11 years old who lived up beyond the rocks had apparently gone out fishing for dinner somewhere and they came to this spot, threw their fish in a little hole with water in it, stripped down to their underwear and dove in! It was like a movie and this was their little local swimming hole!

I was having a great time visiting and watching everyone swim and swing, and then Micah had to be all boy!:) he saw this lady (the one in the bikini in the pic, they weren't with us) doing tricks on the swing so he had o give it a try. He swung out, then hung upside down swinging, then....
...let go!!! Head first almost on shore!
Whew!
I must admit, now that he survived it without a scratch or bump, it was really funny!! He could probably join the circus!! But he doesn't need to,
he lives in one!!!:)
Ginia did it too, so did Jude, and Jere said he wishes he was bigger so he could climb and swing! I would have loved it but I had finally dried off and didn't t want to get wet again, does that make me old? But I was shocked Natalie wouldn't try it, but not that Jason wouldn't, he reminded me how very much he likes the ground!!:)

THEN, on Monday we did one of the coolest things we've done here!
A hike to Rincon Beach. You hike through these jungles, and fields, and resorts, and along side up and down rocky edges and along the way you stop at at least 5/6 beaches! We all found our own little paradise. My mom, dad, Jason, and Jude all had the same favorite. The rest of us and our cool Holland friend Damas all shared a different favorite spot!
This is part of the hike.

OH!!!! And grandma and Jason are heros!! As we were walking along out in the middle of nowhere there is this barbed wire fence area with lots of cows in it and the walking/hiking path gos along side the fence and is on a rocky hillside.
As we were walking grandma was in front and she sees this BRAND BRAND newborn calf, still wet and bloody barely standing on the outside of the fence and it's momma standing of the inside of the fence calling to the baby. She must have given birth right there and the baby rolled out and down under the fence and they couldn't get back to each other.
Som my mom swooped in picked the baby up and tried to get it back in but there was no way, so Jason swooped over (cussing under his breathe) took the baby and we found a spot where we were able to lift it up over the fence. Then we stood there, with mom and Jason bloody and dripping afterbirth (thus Jason's cussing, he doesn't love baby cows as much as we do;)) waiting and hoping the mom, who had run off  a little in fear and distraught, would come take care of her baby. And within just a minute or two she came RUNNING up the hill to her baby. It was actually very touching. She came straight to the baby and started cleaning it off and the baby stood for a few minutes and then started searching to nurse.
How awesome Jehovah created everything, for that baby and momma to instinctively know how to take care of each other.
Then off to the nearest beach to clean the two heros off!!:)

My favorite spot on earth!! Not a soul or a house or any man made thing in site!!!

And these are the two rocking chairs that now sit empty since grandma and grandpa left:'(
We had a great week and we all miss them already!
But we'll see them in 3 weeks, and that is a terrible bitter sweet!
